Granite Con 2023 @ Double Tree
Sep

to Sep 17

Granite Con 2023 @ Double Tree

  • DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

About the event:

“Double Midnight Productions started as a small, three-owner comic book store in Manchester, NH. Our first convention was the 2003, Granite State Comicon. “Granitecon” was a one-day, one-room, no-celebrity, comic book and gaming show. It was definitely small, to be sure, but it was a hit.

And, now sixteen years later, that smaller size continues to serve our guests, vendors, and attendees well. We’ve expanded the retail side to a second location (Concord, NH), and produce several one-day comic book shows throughout the year.

As we continue to grow our brand, that growth is balanced by our customer service, attention to detail, and personal connections; from our Show Producers to the Volunteer Staff. Our goal is not to be the biggest or have the most celebrities. Our goal is to give everyone who attends our events the best experience possible.

We pride ourselves in providing a more intimate experience – fans, comic creators and celebrities get a chance to mingle and chat and enjoy each other’s company. Being smaller is reflected in our pricing as well. We strive to keep our ticket prices as low as possible, our table and booth rental prices are lower too.”

Magnify Voices @ The Silver Center

Come on down to the Silver Center for the Arts in Plymouth, New Hampshire for a safe and fun-filled evening to celebrate the 2023 Magnify Voices Expressive Arts Contest and Granite State youth mental health advocates. They will recognize all of this year's participants, announce the top ten finalists, vote live for the People’s Choice Award, and hear from inspiring individuals helping raise awareness, erase the stigma and effectuate change! Resources from mental health and youth-serving organizations and Magnify Voices sponsors will also be available.

A little bit about Magnify Voices taken from their website:

“The mission of the NH Children's System of Care Advisory Council (NH CSOC AC) is to transform New Hampshire’s current children’s behavioral health care services and supports into an integrated, comprehensive system of care. The system of care is youth and family driven, community based, and culturally and linguistically competent. Behavioral health refers to children and youth with mental health and/or substance use issues.

The idea for the Film and Writing Contest arose out of the need to highlight the current inadequate system serving youth and families in NH. It is the NH CSOC AC Communication Committee's hope that student voices will shine a light on the necessary changes needed to ensure socially and emotionally healthy youth in the Granite State.”
